IndiaDemocracy.org was an idea conceptualized in late 2003 and launched as www.indiademocracy.com. We lost the domain after shutting down the website in 2010.
It was developed to serve as a Gateway to Good Governance by a couple of developers in Hyderabad, India. It was all for the people, of the people and by the people.
Communication between the elected representatives and the electorate in India had always been a one-way process from the politicians to the citizens. The vastness of the territory and lack of proper communication infrastructure made it almost impossible for people to connect directly with politicians. India Democracy was one amongst the first to make it possible.
We at V-Empower Inc. had researched for couple years prior to launch and came up with this website to facilitate two-way communication between legislators and citizens through the internet in early 2002. The penetration of internet in India was about less than 2% then. We had many legislators, social organizations and thousands of citizens discussing issues of mutual concerns here. Several legislators across the country had joined our cause to make the communication system effective.
While the Articles section was devoted to discussions and debates of all concerns from across the country, News section kept our readers updated with all latest political and policy news. Updated database of all elected officials (from Governors to Chief Ministers, MPs, MLAs, to all level of State Ministers) was always available with options to contact them one-to-one.
Many ministers replied publicly to the common questioners through IndiaDemocracy.org, thus fulfilling its role as a gateway to connect Indians with their leaders. The very resourceful platform of www.IndiaDemocarcy.org provided all information about Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha, about India, its history, geography and cultural details.
IndiaDemocracy.org received good support from the media and public after its launch and a few newspapers ran inspiring stories.

www.indiademocracy.org was relaunched after several enhancements like web 2.0 compliant, Blogs, RSS Feeds, Articles, sending Press releases to major newspapers and facility to download elected officials’ database.
IndiaDemocracy.org relaunched by Haryana Governor Dr. A.R.Kidwai on August 17, 2007.
Our quest to help the society connect with the elected officials with various political tools encouraged us to work with various political parties and their leaders including Telugu Desam Party, Congress, CPI and BJP in our home state Andhra Pradesh.
In 2011, we shut down this application permanently.
After not doing much between 2011 and 2014, we launched two mobile Apps (www.mpconnect.in) and we had some success and here are some stories:
